Covering cargo with more than one discharge point option possibility

ORC

ORIGININ RECEIVING CHARGE

Order B/L

Issued to the order of a party, usually the shipper, whose endorsement is required to affect its negotiation

Order Nofify B/L

Issued usually to the order of the shipper with the additional clause that the consignee is to be notified upon arrival of the merchandise. Such mention of the consignee does not give the consignee title to the merchandise

Order-Notify (O/N)

A bill of lading term to provide surrender of the original bill of lading before freight is released; usually associated with a shipment covered under a letter of credit

ORF

RAIL FUEL RECOVERYERY CHARGE AT ORIGININ

Origin

Location where shipment begins its movement at cargo's expense

Original B/L (OBL)

Part of the B/L that has value, especially when negotiable; remaining parts are informational file copies

Original Bill of Lading (O.B.L.)

A document which requires proper signatures for consummating carriage of contract

OS/D

Abbreviation for Over, Short or Damaged. Usually discovered at cargo unloading
